Taylor Swift is bringing her music to the big screen to celebrate the launch of her highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The superstar announced The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, a three-day theatrical event kicking off on October 3, the same day her new album drops.
The centrepiece of the celebration will be the world premiere of the music video for her new single, "The Fate of Ophelia."
Fans attending the screenings will also get an intimate look behind the scenes, including exclusive footage from the video shoot, lyric videos for all tracks on the album, and never-before-seen reflections from Swift on her creative process.
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan…,” Swift teased in her Instagram announcement, adding, “Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
According to AMC Theatres, the 89-minute event has been designed to be more interactive than a standard movie screening. Fans will be encouraged to sing and dance along to the music, though with a few rules in place, like no standing on seats or blocking aisles.
The event will also feature “cut-by-cut explanations” from Swift herself, offering deeper insights into her inspirations for the new songs.
Tickets for The Official Release Party of a Showgirl went live on September 19 at 12:12 pm ET, a nod to the significance of the number 12 in Swift’s career and new project.
Priced at $12 (excluding booking fees), tickets are now available through AMC, Cinemark, Regal, and Fandango. The event will be screened in over 540 AMC theaters across North America.
For Swifties outside the US, international tickets, including for Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and several European countries, will be available starting September 23.
Additional territories are expected to be announced around October 3.
This isn’t Swift’s first theatrical project. Her 2023 concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, shattered box office records and later became Disney+’s most-watched music film.
Screenings for The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will begin on October 3 at 3 p.m. ET and continue through October 5.
