A physics student in Cameroon has developed a special thermal cooking bag that allows food to continue cooking without gas, electricity, or fire after an initial heating process, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Known as the Wonderbag, the cooking bag is made from special fabric and thick insulating material.
It works in a similar way to a slow cooker by trapping the heat inside the cooking pot.
To use the bag, food is first brought to a boil in a covered pot over a gas or wood stove for around five to 10 minutes.
The hot pot is then removed from the stove and placed inside the insulated bag, which is tightly closed.
The insulation helps retain the heat inside the pot, allowing the food to continue cooking slowly for several hours without any additional fuel or electricity.

The method can be particularly useful for cooking rice, lentils, and meat. Soup can also be prepared using the same technique.
After boiling the soup for around 10 minutes, the pot is placed inside the bag, and the soup can reportedly be ready in about 20 minutes.
The hand-made cooking bag, developed by the Cameroonian physics student, can reduce fuel consumption by up to 70 percent, according to the information available about the product.
The technology could also help reduce tree cutting for firewood and protect people from harmful cooking smoke.
More than 2,000 such bags have reportedly been sold in markets across Cameroon.
