Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said on Sunday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had introduced a relief scheme to shield the people from the impact of rising petroleum products’ prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking about Fuel Relief Scheme, Tarar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was personally overseeing the scheme.
The minister said that the prime minister had set the eligibility criteria for motorcycles, motorcycle rickshaws, and rickshaws to include vehicles up to 20 years old.
Motorcycles and rickshaws registered after January 1, 2006, are eligible, Atta Tarar said.
He said 2.2 million people had registered for the scheme, and 1.9 million tokens had been issued.
The court has directed that roads must not be blocked and traffic flow must not be disrupted, Federal Information Minister said.
He said government will not allow public life to be disrupted in compliance with the Islamabad High Court's order.
Islamabad's roads will remain open; we will not allow any violent mob to enter, Atta Tarar said.
