Pakistani showbiz star Saba Qamar has offered a rare glimpse into her personal experiences, candidly revealing that she once developed a crush on and eventually fell in love with a male co-star while working on a film.
The actress made the surprising confession during her first-ever UK Meet & Greet in London, an event hosted by Azfar Rehman in support of SKT Welfare. A clip from the lively interaction has since surfaced online, with Saba speaking openly about a past attraction while keeping the identity of the actor under wraps.
During the conversation, Saba jokingly recalled that the actor in question is now married, admitting that she felt bad about his marriage at the time because she had developed feelings for him.
“He is married now, and it feels really bad. Why would I want him to get divorced? It’s not that long ago, maybe two, four years ago. I had a crush on him. I feel I fell in love with him,” she said.
Saba quickly clarified that she was referring to a film co-star rather than someone she had worked with in television.
“Maybe I fell in love with the character. I’m talking about a film, not a TV actor,” she explained before jokingly realizing how few films she had actually done.
“Oh shit… I’ve only done three or four films,” she quipped, before playfully asking the audience to let the matter slide.
“Please skip this part. No one will notice,” she joked.
The actress then revealed how her 14-year-old niece once gave her a humorous reality check when she was seemingly too immersed in a film project.
Saba recalled her niece telling her, “Khala, you were working in the jungle and there was no one around, that’s why you lost your mind.”
The actress laughed while recalling the incident and shared the reminder her young niece gave her: “Don’t forget that you are Saba Qamar.”
The candid anecdote offered a lighter glimpse into Saba’s experiences on film sets, while also showing how deeply actors can sometimes become immersed in their characters and surroundings.
In another candid moment from the London gathering, Saba also opened up about the qualities she considers important in a potential life partner.
While acknowledging that physical appearance, including good looks and a muscular physique, can be appealing, she stressed that such traits are not what ultimately matter to her.
“Beauty, muscles, all these things… money and all that, these things are not important,” Saba said.
Instead, she highlighted modesty and respectful conduct as essential qualities in a man.
“What is very important is haya in a man’s eyes,” she explained, adding that if she wants someone in her life, she wants him to possess that sense of modesty.
She further elaborated on the kind of respectful gaze she would expect from a partner, saying she would want to feel comfortable entering a room without other women making fun of her because of the way her partner looks at her.
