Sri Lanka Women defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the semi-final of the Asian Games women’s cricket competition, securing their place in the final.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Pakistan Women batted first and scored 177 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs, setting Sri Lanka a target of 178.
Sri Lanka produced a strong reply and reached 178 for two in 17.5 overs to complete the chase with 13 balls to spare.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu led the Sri Lankan innings with an unbeaten 83 from 50 balls.
The result ended Pakistan Women’s hopes of reaching the final, while Sri Lanka advanced to the gold-medal match.
