A suspect in the custody of the Crime Control Department (CCD) was killed reportedly during an encounter in Township area of Lahore on Saturday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to sources, a CCD team was taking Afzaal for recovery when it came under attack from his accomplices.
Sources added that during an exchange of fire, Afzaal was hit by bullets and died on the spot, while his accomplices managed to flee from the spot, taking advantage of darkness.
Police said they had constituted a team for the arrest of his accomplices, while Afzaal’s body had been shifted to a hospital for the post-mortem.
