A tragic incident occurred in Harnai, where a miner lost his life and another sustained injuries after a landslide inside a coal mine in the Khost area, according to police sources.
The accident took place in a coal mine operated by a contractor of ZKB Coal Company, identified as Ehsanullah. Authorities said the landslide struck suddenly, trapping workers inside the mine.
The deceased miner was identified as Muhibullah, son of Abdullah, a resident of Nabhak in Qila Saifullah. Another miner, Pista Khan, son of Shah Muhammad, also a resident of Qila Saifullah, was injured in the incident.
Rescue efforts were launched promptly, and both the body and the injured miner were retrieved from the coal mine. They were shifted to the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Khost for initial medical attention.
Due to the nature of his injuries, the wounded miner was later referred to Quetta for further treatment.
After completing necessary legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his heirs and transported to his native area in Qila Saifullah for burial.
