A man in Sadiqabad had his nose cut off with a sharp weapon by armed men after his son married a girl of his choice, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
According to the report, the elderly victim registered a case at the Jamal Din Wali police station, saying his son, Allah Wasaya, had married Bakhtawar, the daughter of Lal Bakhsh, through a court marriage.
In his complaint in the police station, the victim said he had left his home to offer prayers when unidentified armed men attacked him.
He alleged that the attackers stripped him and subjected him to violence before cutting off his nose with a sharp-edged weapon.
Police registered a case at Jamal Din Wali police station and launched an investigation into the incident.
In January 2026, the channel reported violence in the city where a transgender person was brutally murdered in the Mohalla Hussainabad area of Sadiqabad.
The victim was identified as Sharif, also known as Alia, who had been residing in Mohalla Hussainabad for a long time.
According to local sources, Alia was in the final stages of constructing her own house in the area.
Police officials said that a dispute had taken place a few days prior to the incident. The argument reportedly involved two individuals, identified as Shabu and Shama, and was related to a financial matter. However, police have not yet confirmed whether this dispute is directly linked to the murder.
District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Sammo took notice of the incident. A police team reached the scene soon after the murder was reported and began collecting evidence.
According to the police, the case is being investigated from multiple angles, and further developments are expected as the inquiry progresses. Authorities have assured that those responsible will be brought to justice.
