The caretaker government has launched the Pak Hajj Mobile App to facilitate the pilgrims, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

IT Minister Dr Umar Saif and Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed jointly launched the application developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB). All the information about the Hajj operation will be at the fingertip.

Speaking on the occasion, Aneeq praised Umar for his part in the app launch:  “Umar Saif's help, the app would not have reached its completion.”

The mobile app is made in Urdu and English, and will also add local languages before Hajj. It will work offline once installed and to guide the pilgrims, short clips will be prepared and sent to them.

Umar Saif said following the directives of SIFC, the digitization process has been accelerated in the country and this app is a milestone in this regard.

All the information about the pilgrimage will be available in the app, he said, adding that the pilgrims will be able to keep themselves aware of the live map and location of Hajj places during the payment of money.

Chief Executive Officer NITB Babar Majeed Bhatti briefed the participants about the application. Users will be provided with an ID that is their CNIC and application number, he said, adding that pilgrims can view and update their personal information, including contact details and identification information and it will enable pilgrims to view their hajj application status.

The upcoming pilgrimage will be digitalized and the pilgrims will participate digitally in every process from submitting their application to paying for pilgrimage and returning home, he said, adding that the application will serve as a centralized platform, seamlessly integrating with the ministry’s existing systems.

This app will serve as a one-stop solution for Hajj applicants and pilgrims, providing easy access to all relevant information and services.
