Pakistan will take on traditional rivals India in the final of the Asia Cup Under-19 Cricket tournament in Dubai on Sunday, setting the stage for a high-stakes encounter between the two South Asian teams.
The match is scheduled to begin at 10 am (Pakistan Standard Time-PST), with both sides entering the final after impressive performances in the tournament.
Pakistan will place strong hopes on their batting standout Sameer Minhas, who has emerged as the team’s leading run-scorer with 299 runs in four matches, including a century and a half-century.
Pakistan’s bowling attack has also delivered consistently, with right-arm pacer Abdul Subhan claiming 11 wickets in just three matches, while left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Sayyam has taken eight wickets to bolster the attack.
Speaking ahead of the final, Pakistan Under-19 captain Farhan Yousaf said the team was well prepared and in high spirits. He said the players had benefited from strong support from the management and were determined to deliver a winning performance.
Farhan said Bangladesh had provided stiff competition during the tournament and praised his team’s overall display, highlighting strong fielding, improved batting in the previous match and consistent bowling throughout the competition.
He described the final as a major occasion and said the players were confident and eager to carry forward the momentum by playing aggressive cricket and giving their maximum effort.
