Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is embracing a new and deeply emotional phase of his life after becoming a father.
The actor, who welcomed his first child with wife Katrina Kaif on November 7, recently stepped out of town for the first time since the birth of their baby boy to attend an awards ceremony.
While the couple has not yet revealed their son’s name, the past month has been all about settling into parenthood and cherishing family time.
At the NDTV Indian Of The Year event held this week, Vicky was honoured with the Best Actor award for his performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava.
The win became even more special as the actor chose to dedicate the award to his newborn son, delivering a heartfelt speech that reflected both gratitude and pride.
In his acceptance speech, Vicky said, “Thank you for this honour. This is truly, truly special. It’s a humbling honour. This award is for my family and my little one, who has come in as a blessing. Thank you so much. First time I’m out of town after becoming a father. I’m sure when he grows up, and watches this, he’ll be proud of his dad.”
Speaking about his experience as a new father, Vicky shared that everything still feels surreal and overwhelmingly joyful.
When asked whether he is facing any challenges, he responded, “It is too new to feel any challenges. It's all magical right now. It's all very blissful right now… I don’t know main shabdon mein nahi baiyan kar sakta ke kya feeling hai (I can’t describe the feeling in words). There are all sorts of objectives that I can say, but it's just a very special feeling, and, truly God has been very kind. The family is very happy, and this one is for my entire family and especially for him.”
The actor also added a light-hearted touch to the conversation by admitting that he is currently “better at changing diapers than acting,” highlighting how fully he has embraced his new role as a father.
