Recent unsettling comments by senior actress & producer Fazila Qazi created an online debate and fans’ jaw dropped as she mentioned that she was unfamiliar with film actor and producer, Fahad Mustafa.
In a recent interview on “Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt” podcast, Fazila Qazi shared her raw and unfiltered side. She shared her experiences in personal and professional life.
From discussing her family stories to industry's working environment, attitude, and unethical behavior of those in fraternity, the interview covered all Fazila's complaints and grievances in one hour and 16 minutes.
A snippet shared on Instagram by Galaxy Lollywood reflects two comments made by the artist.
In the playful segment “Excuse me questions”, host Ahmed Ali Butt asked Fazila, "Which food will you serve when the actors of your choice arrive?" She answered mostly saying "I can think of no artist's name currently."
Then the host changed the pattern by saying, "I will give you actors names and you should tell me what would you feed them."
Ahmed Ali Butt then names Fahad Mustafa, to which she replied with disbelief, saying "Who is he?”
And when the host takes Humayun Saeed's name, she answered by saying "I will serve only tea. Even this will be sufficiently more”.
While passing the comments, Fazila's tone was a bit sarcastic with ignorance.
Humayun Saeed is the most recognized artist in Pakistan with major hits under his belt as an actor and producer.
On the other hand, Fahad Mustafa is a popular host and actor.
Fahad’s most popular show “Jeeto Pakistan” is still on air since its inception in 2014.
Fans love Humayun Saeed’s charismatic personality and Fahad Mustafa’s energetic hosting style that engages viewers by the end of the show.
The actress, Fazila, not knowing these two personalities made people shocked and made her question who was she (not much renowned as both of the people she was mentioning) to have expressed such disrespect.
There were mixed reactions from online users. Some agreed with her and some criticized the artist for being rude and arrogant behaviour and how she is not aware of Fahad Mustafa and wouldn't go far as to serve Humayun a proper meal.
People advise her on choosing to respond kindly than degrading fellow artists.
Some guessed that her personal experiences may have lead to the hostile reaction.
Fazila shared an eye-opening side of industry - such as how the lobby system works in the industry and artist payments are delayed, and they are barred from work if they ask for the payments or not comply with producers.
She mentions how producers degrade artist's self respect, just because they are in a position of power.
She also mentions: "I have no friends in the industry. I get a call, I go, I work on my own terms and leave”.
She mentions producers who exploit artists in the name of friendship, use their faces, get popular by artist's hardwork, and withhold their payments.
According to her, most producers become famous through fraud and exploitation.
She continued: "After a production house is famous, they pay limited people, and other supporting, junior artist and technicians are either not getting paid, or if they are, they have to wait 4 months to get their payments clarified."
The artist wishes that people in the industry should change their attitudes towards each other by caring more for each other.
