A delegation of business leaders led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz called on Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday.
According to 24NewsHD TV, APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad, SM Tanvir and FPCCI and LCCI presidents were present at the meeting.
Gohar Ejaz said the delegation briefed the field marshal about the state of economy in Pakistan. He said that economic stability was returning to Pakistan and the business community was supporting the economic policies of the incumbent government.
He said that businesses should be facilitated so that reforms could be introduced. He said that interest rate should be decreased in contrast to inflation. He said that business community’s concerns about the federal budget should be addressed.
Ejaz said that an economy based on exports would be taken forward. He asked the government to honour the promises made in the budget. He said that Pakistani cotton and farmers should be protected.
