The School Education Department has submitted details in the provincial assembly about the number of out-of-school children across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
It was revealed in the report that more than 9.6 million children in Punjab are out of school.
The School Education Department submitted data related to out-of-school children to the Punjab Assembly.
School Education Department submitted a response to the question of opposition member of the assembly Ahmar Rasheed Bhatti regarding out-of-school children.
School Education Department reported that according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics Census 2023, 9.6 million children between the ages of 5 and 16 are out of school.
According to report, out of 45 tehsils of Pakistan, 30 of Punjab's tehsils have the highest number of out-of-school children.
School Education Department is active in bringing out-of-school children to school and in this regard, School Enrollment Campaign and other initiatives have been launched.
