The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a schedule for the delimitation of union councils in Islamabad, with the final list set to be published on October 13, 2026.

According to the schedule, the collection of administrative information, maps and other relevant documents will be completed between July 22 and July 31.

The delimitation committee will prepare the preliminary lists of union councils from August 1 to August 25.

The initial delimitation proposals will be published on August 26 through Form 8, allowing registered voters to review the proposed boundaries.

Voters may file objections to the preliminary delimitations from August 27 to September 16.

The designated delimitation authority will be required to hear and decide all objections by October 1.

Decisions on the objections must be communicated to the delimitation committee by October 8 so that the necessary amendments can be incorporated into the final lists.

Following the completion of the process, the final delimitation of Islamabad’s union councils will be published through Form 9 on October 13.

The Election Commission is constitutionally responsible for organising local government elections and carrying out the delimitation process in Islamabad Capital Territory.
