Quaid-e-Azam University has imposed complete ban on charging from BS, MPhil and PhD students for tea, refreshments, lunch or dinner during seminars, viva and presentations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The decision has been taken to remove the additional financial burden on students and in this regard a notification has been issued.
According to notification, students cannot offer gifts or food to teachers or the evaluation committee even voluntarily.
Teachers and members have been clearly instructed not to put any kind of moral or financial pressure on students.
If the department feels the need, it can use its funds to cover the expenses of tea and biscuits for the external examiner.
All deans and heads of departments are instructed to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
