In a tragic incident, a man was dead and his wife and daughter received critical injuries when a dilapidated electric pole fell on their motorcycle in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The incident took place on a busy main road in Karachi. The deceased was later identified as Jamil, who died on the spot.
The residents of the area removed the pole from the road on a self-help basis. Later, the woman and girl were shifted to a hospital in critical condition.
Sources said that the girl’s condition is serious. Residents of the area said that the pole was in a dilapidated condition for the last few years, but the local administration failed to take action in this regard.
They said that due to the negligence and inefficiency of local administration, one man lost his life.
The residents of the area demanded that relevant officials to remove all the poles that were in a dilapidated condition to avoid such incidents in the future.
