Pakistan Coast Guards have restored and reactivated the turtle hatchery on Astola Island in a significant step towards the protection of marine wildlife and the conservation of rare sea turtle species.
The initiative is designed to safeguard endangered turtles and protect their eggs during the critical breeding and hatching period. Special arrangements have been put in place on the island to ensure a safer environment for nesting turtles and to improve the survival rate of hatchlings.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, officials said the project represents an important contribution to environmental conservation efforts in Pakistan's coastal areas.
They said the restoration of the hatchery is also expected to support the preservation of biodiversity in the region by providing greater protection to vulnerable marine species.
The Pakistan Coast Guards said that alongside their coastal security responsibilities, the protection of marine life remains a key priority.
