Police in Bara Meel, tehsil Kabirwala, district Khanewal, on Sunday arrested a man for killing his wife over a domestic dispute, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rescue 1122 staffers said the incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Haveli police station.
They said the deceased had been identified as 60-year-old Kausar, wife of Rab Nawaz, a resident of Pul 14.
Soon after receiving the information, rescuers rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the THQ Hospital.
Last week, a man shot dead his wife and four children and then took his own life in Wahdat Colony of Quetta.
According to the police, Muhammad Asif, son of Musa Khan, who was an employee at the Civil Secretariat, also recorded a video message before killing himself, his wife and the four children.
In the video, Asif accused two senior officers of the Balochistan Secretariat of pressurizing him and threatening him to vacate the house which was allotted to him by the provincial government and in which he was living with the family for the last several years.
In the video, he appealed to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and other senior government officials to take notice of these threats which forced him to take this extreme step.
