The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has granted in-principle approval (IPA) to PaySa to operate as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI), marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s digital payments sector. With this approval, PaySa introduces an innovative, tech-driven ecosystem that improves transaction efficiency, security, and interoperability on a large scale.

Unlike traditional EMI approvals that typically focus on consumer and merchant wallets, PaySa’s approval extends to POS and QR acquiring, offering a wider range of digital payment solutions. This strategic distinction positions PaySa as a comprehensive provider in Pakistan's growing fintech space, bridging key gaps in the market.

Under this EMI framework, users will have access to various services such as e-money accounts, instant peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers, bill payments, digital debit transactions, and cash withdrawals. PaySa places a strong emphasis on automation, security, and regulatory compliance, ensuring its services meet international best practices and deliver reliable solutions.

“PaySa’s goal is to enhance digital transaction efficiency at scale and bring next-generation payment solutions to Pakistan,” said PaySa CEO Ali Adnan. “Our technology offers agility, security, and inclusivity, helping digital payments become the standard for both businesses and individuals.”

In addition to its technological advancements, PaySa is driving financial inclusion by making low-cost financial services accessible to underbanked populations, enabling more people to participate in the digital economy. However, the company’s core strength lies in modernizing Pakistan’s payment infrastructure, reducing reliance on cash, and fostering a more seamless and efficient financial ecosystem. With this approval, PaySa is shaping the future of digital payments, offering secure, scalable, and high-performance financial solutions.
