Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has shared revealing insights into how his father’s tough training during childhood built his strong discipline, and he has also spoken warmly about fellow actor Ranveer Singh’s acclaimed work in Dhurandhar, dismissing any notion of envy within the film industry.

Akshay Kumar, one of Hindi cinema’s most respected actors, has spoken candidly about the influence his father had on his life and values and how those early lessons still shape him today.

Growing up, Akshay’s father was a wrestler who believed in building both physical strength and mental toughness.

Rather than shielding his son, he encouraged him to test his limits.

Akshay has recounted how his father arranged for him to train and wrestle with more experienced fighters in their community.

These encounters, often challenging and uncomfortable for a young boy, helped instill resilience and focus in him long before he ever entered the film world.

Those formative experiences, Akshay says, taught him the importance of discipline a quality he credits for his ability to work hard and stay grounded in one of the toughest industries.

Instead of relying purely on talent, he believes consistent effort and a strong mindset are what have kept him going throughout his long career.

Akshay also used the opportunity to share his thoughts on parenting, urging parents to nurture their children’s strengths and help them develop confidence through real world challenges.

He feels that facing difficulties early on  whether physical, emotional, or academic can build character that lasts into adulthood.

Turning to life in Bollywood, Akshay was asked about his view on the success of other actors, especially recent praise for Ranveer Singh’s performance in Dhurandhar.

Rather than seeing others achievements as competition, Akshay stressed that there is genuine support among actors.

He said that the industry isn’t driven by jealousy; instead, artists often admire and celebrate each other’s work.
