In a shocking incident in Sukkur on Eid, four brothers were shot dead and one seriously injured after a gunman entered their home in the Anwarpur neighbourhood of Kandhra city, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
Police confirmed that the suspect and the victims were close relatives, and the assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Upon receiving the report, a heavy police contingent was dispatched to the location. With the assistance of emergency teams, the bodies of the deceased brothers were swiftly transferred to the hospital, while the injured brother remains in critical condition. Authorities have launched an extensive search operation to apprehend the suspect.
Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho has directed the Deputy Inspector General of Sukkur to submit a detailed report on the incident. Special teams have been formed to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspect, and police checkpoints have been set up at the city’s entry and exit points to widen the investigation’s scope.
IG Odho has emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent investigation covering all aspects of the incident. He further instructed that the affected family be provided with all possible legal and security support. Considering the ongoing Eid celebrations, he also directed that patrols and intelligence operations in the area be intensified to maintain public safety.
