Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated that Iran is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons, stating that the country’s supreme leadership has already declared such arms religiously prohibited, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
In a message, the Iranian president told the international community that no government official in Iran could pursue nuclear weapons, given the clear religious stance against them.
He maintained that many of Iran’s challenges stem from external interference, while emphasising that Tehran does not seek conflict with neighbouring countries and remains committed to resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.
Highlighting the need for regional stability, Pezeshkian proposed the formation of a collective security framework among Islamic countries aimed at promoting peace and cooperation across the region.
