Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Masjid Khatam-un-Nabiyeen in Gujrat on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Elahi was accompanied by senior party leaders, including Rasikh Elahi, Mian Imran Masood, Usman Zahoor Elahi, Chaudhry Kashif Sandhu, Chaudhry Khalid Sandhu, and Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed.
After the prayers, Elahi addressed the media, extending Eid greetings to the nation.
He criticized the treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan, saying the former prime minister had not harmed anyone and that restrictions on his family’s visits were unjust.
Elahi recalled the last general elections, praising Khan’s leadership and urging patience, saying, “God helped us before, and if it is His will, the remaining rigging will also be revealed.
He also criticized the opposition, particularly the PML-N, for governance failures, alleging mismanagement of resources, including the purchase of a costly aircraft.
Highlighting concerns over Imran Khan’s health, Elahi said that deliberate government negligence had caused deterioration in the former prime minister’s eyesight.
“Every prisoner has a basic human right to meet their family during illness under national and international law.
The government’s approach is creating anxiety among the public and threatening national unity,” he said.
