Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the people of Pakistan and Muslims around the world, describing the festival as a manifestation of Allah’s special mercy and infinite blessings following the holy month of Ramazan.
In his message marking Eid-ul-Fitr 1447 on Saturday, the prime minister said that Muslims express gratitude to Almighty Allah on this blessed occasion for granting them the joy of Eid after a month of fasts and devotion. He prayed for the acceptance of prayers and for strength to implement Islamic values in practical life.
He noted that Eid symbolises Allah’s promise of reward after patience and perseverance, while renewing the spirit of sacrifice, unity, service to humanity and collective responsibility. Stressing social inclusivity, he said it was essential to ensure that the weaker segments of society also shared in the joy of Eid.
Highlighting the government’s initiatives during Ramazan, the prime minister said a digital wallets system had been successfully implemented to provide dignified financial assistance to vulnerable groups, adding that mutual cooperation and a sense of shared responsibility were key to national progress and prosperity.
Referring to the humanitarian situation in Gaza and other conflict-hit areas of the Middle East, he said that even on the joyous occasion of Eid, the hearts of Pakistanis remained saddened by the suffering of affected populations. He emphasised that these crises underscored the urgent need for greater unity within the Muslim ummah to promote justice, dignity and lasting peace.
The prime minister concluded by praying for global peace, security and stability, expressing hope that the spirit of Eid would strengthen the values of tolerance, brotherhood and harmony, and inspire humanity to work collectively for the common good.
