Karachi experienced early morning thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain on Saturday, causing water accumulation in several areas, including Saddar, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Malir and Shah Faisal Colony.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, in Lahore, late-night rainfall along with a hailstorm led to a noticeable drop in temperature, making the weather significantly cooler in the provincial capital.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued weather alerts for Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, warning of further rainfall, while snowfall is also expected in northern regions.

The latest spell follows severe downpours reported on March 19, when at least 19 people lost their lives and around 60 others were injured in rain-related incidents across Karachi, prompting authorities to declare a rain emergency in the city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, more heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is expected, with intermittent showers likely to continue throughout the day and some areas at risk of intense downpours.
