Lahore police adopted effective measures to provide foolproof security for Pakistan Super League (PSL)-XI qualifier, eliminators and final matches, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
PSL-X qualifier cricket match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will be played today at Gaddafi Stadium today.
CCPO Bilal Siddique Kimyana said that smart and active contingents of Lahore police will perform security duty.
He said that effective measures are taken to provide fool-proof security to foreign and national cricket players, team officials and cricket fans.
Bilal Siddique Kimayana said that promoting international cricket and providing a safe environment for cricket players and fans is our top priority.
CCPO Lahore directed supervisory officials to coordinate with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) district administration and law-enforcement agencies (LEAs).
Bilal Siddique Kimyana said that implementation on SOPs must be ensured.
Dolphin squads, PRU and other police team will perform patrolling duties around residence of players, routes and roads leading to Qaddafi Stadium.
Bilal Siddique Kimyana said that continuous patrolling will be conducted through Punjab Safe Cities Authority and other control rooms.
He directed Punjab police personnel to remain alert while performing their duties.
