Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistani humanitarian worker Saad Edhi has been released after being detained by Israeli occupation forces while aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla.
In a statement posted on X, Dar said Saad Edhi, along with other detained humanitarian workers, had safely arrived in Istanbul.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce that as a result of our concerted efforts, Mr. Saad Edhi, who was aboard Global Sumud Flotilla, has been released after being illegally detained by Israeli occupation forces,” Dar said.
The foreign minister expressed gratitude to the government of Türkiye for facilitating Edhi’s safe return to Istanbul.

“I once again convey my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Türkiye for ensuring his safe return to Istanbul,” he added.
Dar strongly condemned the detention and treatment of humanitarian workers by Israeli forces, calling it “deeply condemnable and totally unacceptable.”
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people, stating that Pakistan has been and will continue to provide “unequivocal support” to its Palestinian brothers and sisters.
