Joe Jonas has finally spoken about his famous ex, pop superstar Taylor Swift, nearly two decades after their much-publicized split.
The 36-year-old singer opened up during an interview with Esquire, where he appeared alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas. When asked about Taylor’s latest album The Life of a Showgirl, Joe offered a brief but respectful response.
“I’ve heard some of it. I think she’s obviously the biggest artist out there, and I think it’s good,” he said. “Everybody’s got an opinion about it, but from what I’ve heard, there are some catchy melodies.”
His comments mark a rare public acknowledgment of Swift, whom he dated in 2008 before their relationship ended in what fans still remember as a dramatic breakup. Taylor famously told The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the time that Joe broke up with her over the phone in just 27 seconds when she was 18, a story that has since become part of pop culture history.
Since then, both stars have moved on in very different directions. Joe went on to marry actress Sophie Turner, though the couple finalized their divorce last year, while Taylor is now engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce.
When asked about his current dating life, Joe admitted that his busy tour schedule leaves little room for romance.
“Five shows in a row doesn’t make it easy to meet someone for coffee,” he quipped, before adding that while he’s not on dating apps, he has “met people through Instagram and TikTok.”
Earlier this year, Joe also sparked fan buzz with a subtle nod to Taylor’s music. He responded to a fan’s comment quoting lyrics from her 2021 track Mr. Perfectly Fine — believed to be about him – by writing, “Thanks for noticing.”
