Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) decided to cancel licenses of those generating electricity in excess of the approved load from solar systems, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The decision was being taken when it was revealed that solar system generated more electricity than approved.
Notices of license cancellation were sent to those generating electricity contrary to the approved load.
The company sent notices to those generating electricity contrary to the licenses of NEPRA and LESCO.
LESCO and NEPRA have entered into agreements by granting licenses to consumers to generate electricity while consumers violated the agreement by installing additional solar panels.
Installation of additional solar panels led to a record increase in electricity generation.
LESCO caught those generating excess electricity through MDI reading and notices were issued when violations were found in MDI reading.
