Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Tuesday visited the residence of Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, and met with a delegation of prominent Sunni scholars, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah accompanied the Interior Minister during the visit.
A detailed discussion was held on recent developments, during which the scholars presented their stance on various issues.
Minister Naqvi attentively heard their concerns and assured them that all legitimate matters would be resolved on a priority basis.
It was agreed that a comprehensive follow-up meeting will soon be held in Islamabad to continue dialogue and coordination.
“The government will not interfere in the affairs of madrasas and mosques,” Naqvi said, reaffirming the state’s commitment to religious autonomy.
He added that a focal person would be available round-the-clock to ensure constant communication between both sides.
The delegation of scholars included Allama Syed Muzaffar Shah, Mufti Abid Mubarak, Allama Liaquat Hussain Azhari, Allama Rehan Azhar Nomani, Mufti Rafi-ur-Rehman Noorani, Allama Ashraf Gurmani, and Allama Ahmed Rabbani.
