The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that the new moon of Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1447 AH will rise at 5:25 PM on October 23, 2025.
According to the astronomical department, the age of the moon at sunset on October 23 will be approximately 48 hours and 54 minutes, while the interval between sunset and moonset in coastal areas is expected to be 56 minutes.
SUPARCO stated that, based on these calculations, there are very good chances of sighting the new moon on the evening of October 23, provided the weather remains clear.
“It is likely that the first day of Jamadi-ul-Awwal will fall on October 24, 2025,” SUPARCO said in its forecast.
However, the final announcement regarding the beginning of the Islamic month will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will make its decision based on testimonies received from across the country.
