In the second phase of upgradation of stadiums, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to re-start upgradation of National Cricket Stadium Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to sources, the construction work at the National Cricket Stadium will start from next month.
All the old stands of the National Stadium will be demolished and remodeled.
The fences installed outside the stands will be removed to improve the view of the National Stadium Karachi.
The design of the enclosures of the National Stadium Karachi will be similar to the Gaddafi Stadium.
However, the roofs will be installed at the Gaddafi Stadium later.
Moreover, the PCB will also build a new stadium in Islamabad with the help of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The administrative control of the new cricket stadium to be built in Islamabad will be with the CDA.
However, the PCB will be allowed to host international and domestic matches in the stadium.
The PCB had allocated Rs18 billion for the upgradation of stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
In the first phase, funds worth Rs10.5 billion were spent on construction work.
