Police have arrested a key member of the social media team of a religious party for allegedly issuing a security threat against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media.
According to police sources, the accused — identified as Zafran — had posted a message containing serious and threatening remarks about the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister a few days ago.
The Tarnol Police, acting on intelligence, apprehended the suspect from Gilgit, where he had been hiding. The accused was already wanted in a terrorism-related case, officials said.
Following the arrest, the suspect was transferred to Adiala Jail for an identification parade as part of the ongoing investigation.
