As Pakistan and India are set to lock horns in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup at Dubai Cricket Stadium today, gamblers have termed the Indian team the favourite to win today’s match, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
This is the second time in the tournament that both teams are set to clash.
A weak ago, team India had inflicted a humiliating defeat on Pakistan, laying bare the latter’s weaknesses in batting, bowling as well as fielding.
According to gamblers, there are 82 per cent chances of India’s win, while 18 per cent chances of Pakistan emerging victorious.
Sources have told the 24News TV channel that the rate of Pakistan’s victory has been fixed at Rs4.32, while that of India at Rs1.23.
Bookies have said that India’s victory against Pakistan a week ago has given it a psychological edge over the latter, and that the Pakistan team is under great stress, firstly owing to the defeat and secondly due to the controversy generated over the Indian team’s refusal to shake hands with its members.
According to the bookies, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek are favourites to score more runs for India, while from Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman is the favourite.
Lahore Police ready for crackdown
On the other hand, on the instructions of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, all SHOs in Lahore are keeping a close eye on gamblers and a ready for a crackdown on them.
