The Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has stated that talks are underway to resume flight operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private airlines, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
Chaudhary Salik Hussain said that Air Sial and Airblue must be provided the opportunity to start flight operations for Birmingham and Manchester.
He said that during the address of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistani community showed exemplary enthusiasm.
Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced it would resume its flight operations to the United Kingdom (UK) from October 2025.
The flight operations will start from Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Virgin Atlantic Airlines suspended its flight operations from Pakistan in 2023.
Sources said that the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also granted permission to British Airways to resume its flight operations.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will restart their flight operations to Pakistan via Riyadh.
