A young girl has been kidnapped at gunpoint from Gehlan, Allahabad police station limits in Chunian, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to police, ten mischievous youths riding four motorcycles kidnapped the girl from her house.
On the noise of the family, a youth named Irfan, a neighbour, knocked down three kidnappers riding a motorcycle.
Kidnappers opened fire on being caught, but the youth miraculously survived.
Police took the three kidnappers into custody on a call of 15.
The father of the kidnapped girl appealed; police should recover my kidnapped daughter and immediately arrest the rest of the kidnappers.
The young man who kidnapped the girl, along with his accomplices, is being described as the cousin of the kidnapped girl.
Kidnapper Muneeb, son of Asif, is a resident of Araiyan, Bhago, under the limits of Kanganpur police station.
Muneeb was the ex-fiancé of the kidnapped girl, but the engagement was broken off due to his bad behaviour and marriage to another girl.
The kidnapped girl's wedding was scheduled for the 28th of this month.
