In Lahore, the tragedy of poisonous food (dahi bhallay) has claimed yet another life, as a third victim lost his battle for survival after being under treatment for a week, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Hanjarwal, where three individuals were affected after consuming the contaminated snack. Two of them, Ashraf and Sajjad, had already died earlier.
According to police, the food poisoning incident took place on September 13.
Following the consumption of the toxic dahi bhallay, two deaths were immediately reported, while the third victim, Ali Sher, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and placed on a ventilator.
Ali Sher had been undergoing treatment for the past week at Jinnah Hospital, where doctors fought to save his life. Despite efforts, he succumbed to the deadly effects of the poisoned food.
Police confirmed that Ali Sher’s body has now been shifted to the morgue for further procedures.
