Pakistani singer Sanam Marvi has opened up about one of the most painful chapters of her life, revealing that she regrets the decision to enter her past marriage and admitting that she would never have made the choice if she did not have her three sons.
A viral clip from Sanam’s latest podcast appearance has been making the rounds on social media, in which the singer candidly reflected on the 15 years she says she spent suffering through a difficult phase of her life.
Talking about her marriage in Punjab, Sanam made an emotional admission, saying: “Mere teen bete na hotay, main zindagi mein kabhi aisa faisla na karti.” “If I did not have my three sons, I would never have made such a decision in my life.”
The singer went on to express regret over the amount of time she feels she lost during that period, describing it as a decision she would not repeat if given another opportunity.
“Sometimes in life, you make decisions where you end up wasting your time. That was a very good time of my life. If Allah gives me an opportunity, I would never make that decision again, and I would never have wasted 15 years of my life like that,” she revealed.
While Sanam spoke openly about her regret, she made it clear that her three sons are the reason she continues to maintain respect for their father.
“But now there are children, and he is their father. I have a lot of respect and regard for him because of them,” she said.
The singer also revealed that she has made efforts to provide her sons with a stable and comfortable life. According to Sanam, she built a house for them from her own home and also gifted them a car.
She further shared that her sons now visit her and spend time with her, marking a significant change after years of separation.
Recalling the most difficult part of that journey, Sanam revealed that she remained away from her children for around seven years and had to go through numerous court proceedings.
“For seven years, the children were away from me. There were court cases and I don’t know what all I went through. I have seen a very difficult time,” she recalled.
Sanam’s candid remarks offer a glimpse into the emotional toll of those years, as she reflected on the 15-year period with a sense of regret while also acknowledging that her three sons remain the most important part of that chapter of her life.
Despite everything she says she endured, the singer continues to respect their father because of his relationship with their children, while focusing on maintaining her bond with her sons.
