Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) defeated Kingsmen Academy by nine wickets in round 2 of the President's Trophy Grade-I tournament at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, 24NewsHGD TV reported on Monday.
The matches between KRL and MIT Solutions and PTV and State Bank ended in draws.
OGDCL needed only 36 more runs at the start of the day to chase a target of 121.
The team reached the target comfortably, with opener Waqar Ahmed remaining unbeaten on 75.
At Shoaib Akhtar Stadium in Rawalpindi, KRL resumed their first innings at 423 for five but were eventually bowled out for 490 against MIT Solutions.
Faheem Ashraf scored 69. KRL conceded a 170-run first-innings lead.
MIT Solutions declared their second innings at 167 for nine after 50 overs.
KRL captain Iftikhar Ahmed took five wickets for 18 runs in eight overs. It was the third time in his first-class career that he had taken five wickets in an innings.
In Abbottabad, State Bank resumed their second innings at 84 for four with a 48-run lead. Captain Ghazi Ghori, Abid Ali and Kashif Bhatti scored half-centuries to strengthen their team’s position.
State Bank declared at 328 for eight, setting PTV a target of 293 runs in 27 overs. PTV reached 64 for one in 12 overs before the match ended in a draw.
The third round of the tournament will begin on Thursday in Islamabad, Abbottabad and Peshawar.
The remaining President’s Trophy matches scheduled for Shoaib Akhtar Stadium will now be played at the National Cricket Ground in Islamabad, while Grade-II Gold matches will be held at Shoaib Akhtar Stadium.
After two rounds, Ghani lead the points table with 36 points, followed by OGDCL with 31 and PTV with 22 points.
