Chinese video-sharing and live-streaming platform Bilibili has reportedly made it possible for Pakistani users to create accounts without using a VPN, proxy, or changing their region, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
Often described as China’s version of YouTube, Bilibili allows users to create accounts, build channels, and upload videos.
Pakistani users can register using the country code +92 and their mobile numbers.
To create an account, users need to visit the Bilibili website, click Register, select Pakistan (+92), enter their mobile number without the initial zero, and complete the captcha.
After entering the verification code received on their phone, the account can be activated.
Users can then visit the Personal Center to add their name, profile picture, date of birth, gender, and other information.
Email verification and two-factor authentication can also be enabled to improve account security.
How to upload videos
Videos can be uploaded through Contribute → Video Submission.
Users can add a title, cover image or thumbnail, tags, and a description before publishing or scheduling the video. Promotional content must also be identified where required.
Bilibili has specific requirements for video size, duration, format, and resolution, particularly for new accounts.
Checking views and earnings
Users can monitor views, followers, likes, and other performance statistics through the platform’s data centre. Revenue-related information can be checked through the revenue management section.
Earnings are displayed in Chinese yuan.
Withdrawal options become available after the applicable requirements or thresholds are met.
However, the payment methods available to Pakistani users will depend on Bilibili’s current policies and the services supported in Pakistan.
Pakistani users can therefore register on Bilibili, upload content and build an audience without relying on a VPN, proxy or region-changing service, subject to the platform’s current registration and content policies.
