Around 400 people fell ill after eating food at a wedding ceremony in Tando Allahyar, with a large number of men, women and children reportedly becoming unconscious.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, an emergency was declared at Tando Allahyar Civil Hospital following the incident.
Doctors said around 400 people had fallen ill, while some of the affected children were in a serious condition.
They added that a large number of men and women were also among those who lost consciousness.
Relatives of the affected people said their condition deteriorated after they ate food at a wedding reception held at a private marriage hall.
Several of those affected remained in poor condition and were being treated at the hospital.
