District Court Lahore on Wednesday postponed proceedings in a case involving allegations raised by Ayesha Sharafat, in which well-known social media personality Rajab Butt and other accused individuals have been nominated.

During the hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Yasir Arafat adjourned the case until April 27, as formal charges could not be framed against the accused at this stage, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The adjournment of the case came after both sides sought additional time to present their arguments before the court.

Defence counsel Rana Maroof challenged the framing of charges, arguing that the allegations against his clients were not substantiated and that they had been wrongly implicated.

He maintained that the complainant had not provided sufficient evidence, and therefore, the indictment should not proceed.

Meanwhile, the legal team representing Ayesha Sharafat requested more time to prepare their arguments. The court accepted the request and adjourned further proceedings.

All accused, including Rajab Butt, were present in court along with the complainant.

According to records submitted by Nawab Town Police, the case includes serious allegations, while one suspect, Salman Haider, has been declared absconding.
