Commenting on the extension of the ceasefire by the US President Donald Trump, a former US general, Commit, has said that it was hard for the US president to refuse to his buddy Field Marshal Asim Munir, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, the ex-general has said that the situation is different owing to a close relationship between Trump and Munir. “Whenever the latter lays stress on peace, it is difficult for the former to say No.”
He has further said that a lot of discussion is being held on the complex structure of leadership in Iran. “It is not clear who calls the shots in the country.”
He has gone on to say that it remains to be seen whether the second round of talks will be held or not. “As I had pointed out earlier, both parties, the US and Iran, have a desire for talks. And both countries don’t want to go for a war again,” the ex-general has said.
