A goldsmith has received an extortion threat on a telephonic call from unknown suspects in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to police, Rs 2 million was demanded from an overseas number. A photo of bullets was also sent by unknown persons.
The goldsmith was terrified of serious consequences if money was not paid within 3 days.
Affected citizen Jahangir, resident of Junejo Colony, filed a complaint of the threats at the police station.
He stated in the police report he has been associated with goldsmith's work for the past six months in a shop in Al-Asif Square.
"I have no enmity with anyone," complainants said.
He appealed to police for protection and action.
