Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) started loadshedding as 150 KV feeders found involved in electricity theft worth millions of rupees, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Wednesday.
Sources said that power theft was detected in Lesco’s 11 KV feeders. Instead to curb power theft, Lesco started load shedding on areas of high losses.
Currently, Lesco is implementing six hours load shedding schedule.
Initial estimates suggest the theft caused losses exceeding Rs 12 million. The Lesco authorities said the crackdown on power theft would continue, adding that no one would be allowed to inflict losses on the national exchequer.
