Arzoo Haider, a national female karate player, who won a gold medal at the National Games has passed away on Wednesday after sustaining critical injuries in an accident.
According to details, 18-year-old Arzoo, daughter of Haider Ali, met with an accident in Quetta while riding a motorcycle.
Arzoo, associated with Ghulam Ali Hazara Sports Complex Quetta, represented Balochistan in national competitions.
According to hospital sources, Arzoo was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit with a severe head injury and her condition remains critical. She was on her way to participate in a Karate Championship at Ayub Sports Complex last Saturday with a teammate when the motorcycle slipped, leaving her critically injured.
Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation Muhammad Jahangir and other officials expressed grief over the death of the national athlete.
