The Punjab government has decided to provide electric bikes to athletes as part of a new initiative aimed at supporting sports players across the province, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to official details, the Finance Department has released a budget of 300 million rupees for the scheme, which will facilitate the distribution of electric bikes to athletes.
The funds have been issued to the Sports Department to implement the programme.
Officials said the allocation has been made available through an online system, ensuring transparency in the release and use of funds.
The move is expected to help athletes with transportation and improve their access to training facilities.
In a related development, the Finance Department has also released 115 million rupees for the delivery of education services, indicating a broader effort to strengthen key public sectors.
