Katy Perry had an unexpected yet amusing encounter with a fan during her Atlanta concert when she came across someone who happened to share the same name as her former fiancé, Orlando Bloom.

The 40-year-old pop star was hosting a fun onstage moment with audience members when she invited a fan dressed in a bright pink cat costume to join her. As the singer began her playful exchange, she asked the concertgoer their name. To her surprise, the fan responded with “Orlando.”

Shocked, Perry laughed before exclaiming, “Your name is Orlando? Incredible. Orlando the cat.”

The lighthearted moment came just weeks after news broke that Perry and Bloom, 48, had ended their nearly decade-long relationship. The couple, who first began dating in 2016 and later got engaged in 2019, quietly split earlier this year.

A source previously told Us Weekly that while the breakup was difficult for Perry, the two remain amicable. “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved not to have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life,” the insider explained.

Perry, who was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, shares a daughter, Daisy Dove, 4, with Bloom. The Carnival Row actor is also father to Flynn, 14, from his previous relationship with model Miranda Kerr.

Despite their separation, both Perry and Bloom remain dedicated to co-parenting Daisy. Another insider revealed that the pair have been prioritising stability for their daughter. “They are still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. Orlando even brought Daisy to meet Katy on tour before attending the Bezos wedding. It’s not messy between them,” the source added.

Earlier this summer, Bloom took Daisy to Australia to spend time with Perry while she wrapped up the international leg of her Lifetimes Tour. Shortly afterwards, he attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s star-studded wedding in Venice, Italy, solo.

In a joint statement, representatives for Perry and Bloom clarified that there is no bad blood between the two stars.

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
