Pakistan Army is continuing relief operation in flood-hit areas of Buner, Swat, Shangla and Swabi. Troops of Corps of Engineers are engaged in clearing debris and opening roads.
Pakistan Army engineers have repaired the Jar Bridge connecting Bajaur and Dir in a short period of six days and opened it for traffic. With the opening of the bridge, the connection between Bajaur and Dir has been restored.
The people of Bajaur and Dir had requested the Pakistan Army to repair the bridge immediately. On the request of the locals, the Pakistan Army worked day and night to make the bridge usable. Traffic is flowing on the bridge.
Earlier, Pak Army copter rescued several families in flood situation due to sudden eruption of glacier lake in Roshan Tali Das village of GB's Ghizer district.
Many families were stranded due to road closure. Pakistan Army shifted several families to safer places from the glacier affected area through helicopter.
Moreover, rations and other essential supplies are being delivered via Pakistan Army helicopters. People from flood-affected areas are being relocated to safer places. The Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team of the Corps of Engineers is actively involved in locating injured individuals and recovering bodies from the debris.
Pakistan Army's medical teams are providing free treatment to patients in the affected areas. Due to the efforts of Pakistan Army, road from Qadir Nagar to Bhatai Dara in Buner has been reopened.
